![]() Then there are some buffers to follow-up and synergize the dmg output as well as some spells card that removes enemy's board. This would be the standard deck of this Evolution strats, where the MVP here is the "Dark Angel Olivia" combo with "Nature's Guidance" (10 total points) and endless evolution on fairies with "Titatnia's Sanctuary". It's similar to what midrange class would looks like (still viable and powerful espeacially in late game) but with endless evolution points to go with and very tempo heavy as well as excel at taking over tempo. The cards and strats here are quite the non-meta. I've only been playing for about a week, so it isn't my place to say if things are OP or not and if some of these late-game cards like Olivia are fine or should be nerfed, this is all just my observation on the current state of the late-game.This is a pretty interesting idea i accidentally came up with. Then there is Swordcraft's Leonidas gives you an overwhelming chance of victory after he dies and spawns the amulet that gives all future followers you summon +3/+3 with Rush, and finally lets not forget the Prince of Darkness who gives you a deck of super OP cards to finish a game. Off of the top of my head, I can think of a few 8+ cost cards as good as Olivia, some of which aren't even legendary, Dragoncraft's Polyphonic Roar is a 9cost amulet that spawns 5/5 dragons with Storm every turn and that's really powerful for controlling/ending the late game. If your 8+ cards aren't as good as Olivia, you're at a disadvantage. I believe she sets the standard for what the late-game should look like. Next time you're considering the 8+ cost Followers that you're going to put into your deck, you have to stop and compare them to Olivia. Olivia is essentially a 6/6 rush follower that grants two evo-points and that's tremendously powerful for controlling that late-game when both of you are desperately top-decking to end the game. ![]() It's safe to say that you're going to win automatically in that scenario. Olivia is very very powerful against an opponent who does not have an equally powerful late-game card. I have right around the same amount of Take Two wins as Ranked wins (~450 of each), not everyone is grinding to the top right away. Next expansion, if it slows the meta down, will see a lot more Olivia play.Īnd judging based on rank when a 45% winrate is enough to climb to Master and the limiting factor is match count rather than winrate.isn't a good idea. Tsubaki in particular has been surprisingly strong helping with the Heal Haven and D-Shift Rune matchups, eating buffed followers and Ice Golems while representing a delayed 4-6 face damage.Īgain, I don't think splashing in 1-2 Olivia is particularly awful, but its very meta-dependant as to whether it actually wins games for you enough to justify it being a dead draw until Turn 9. For example, I'm running 3x Alexander, 0-2x Lucifer, 3x Fortress, 3x Tsubaki, and 2-3x Alwieda (and zero Otohime) as my late game, all cards that impact my opponent's ability to kill my face the turn they are played. That's not the meta I'm experiencing, so I built my Control Sword around cards that impact the board when played without Evolve, rather than relying on an Olivia draw plus living that long. In a meta where there is a high percentage of Control decks that aren't D-Shift, Olivia is great. Most games don't get to that grindy of a state where taking a tempo loss on Turn 9 (which a 6/6 Rush certainly is) in exchange for 2-3 Evolve points to use later will make the difference. This goes for Odin as well.ĭepends on the build. Even then you still may see her in some StormHaven decks. Watching I have also seen that most of their opponents all run her as well, they have all stated that you can expect to see at least one copy of her in a majority of the decks you will encounter unless they are D-Shift or StormHaven. They say most high ranked decks DO run her just because if the game does go that long you will need her to stay alive at some point. Sorry but I watch most of the streamers while ranking up who are all high ranked and they all suggest running her. And of the control decks, Runecraft/Havencraft/Dragoncraft don't particularly have a reason to run it, Bloodcraft/Shadowcraft rarely exist, so that leaves.Control Swordcraft I guess? And I'm not even running her (own 3 copies) in my Control Sword, so. Ranked? Doesn't even fit in the meta for most decks because Turn 9 is beyond when most decks want to claim lethal.
